More about this immersive retreat

We begin our retreat with a sunrise mindful movement session at Rose Bay Beach, Bowen, giving you space to arrive, breathe, and settle into your peace.

From there, Yogis will make their own way to the My Zen Yoga Studio, where we open our retreat before moving into an instructional Yoga session—which is designed to give new Yogis deeper guidance and offer practicing Yogis a refreshing refinement of their existing practice.

Next, we shift into a wellbeing segment, where we will share a healthy habit topic for improving everyday wellbeing—simple, practical habits you can integrate into your everyday.

A replenishing Yin Yogapractice follows, accompanied by a soothing hand or head massage, before the healing tones of Crystal Bowls invite you into deep immersion.

Nourishing refreshmentsare included as part of your retreat package.

What sets our immersive retreat apart

We are located in the beautiful Whitsundays

We are based in Bowen, in the beautiful Whitsundays. Our retreat offers both locals and visitors a nurturing space to reconnect and nourish their wellbeing. On the morning of the retreat, we’ll begin with a sunrise movement and meditation practice at Rose Bay Beach, embracing the beauty and benefits of the rising sun. Showcasing Bowen’s stunning beaches is an essential part of the experience, allowing you to settle into your own sense of peace while taking in the breathtaking beauty of a Whitsunday sunrise.

Qualified and experienced practitioners

Our retreats are facilitated by qualified and experienced practitioners who teach from lived experiences, creating a welcoming, supportive space for you to experience a deep self‑care immersion. Throughout the movement practices, our practitioners offer thoughtful modifications to accommodate all levels of yogis, ensuring everyone feels safe, included, and empowered in their practice.

We are intentional and selective with the special guests who support elements of the retreat, ensuring they are both highly qualified and aligned with our purpose.

A welcoming and light filled space

Our lovely studio—where we’ll spend most of our time—is light‑filled and welcoming. In moderate weather, natural airflow keeps the space fresh, and during warmer days we have full air‑conditioning for your comfort. You’ll also find bathroom facilities, as well as filtered and mineralised drinking water available. There is plenty of street parking, and we’re just one block from Bowen’s scenic front beach.

    We meet at the beautiful Rose Bay beach for gentle mindful movement and meditation with the sunrise.

    Stay for some quiet time after our sunrise practice, to be with your peace.

    We meet at the My Zen Yoga Studio, 30 Herbert Street Bowen where we open our retreat.

    Instructional Yoga practice - a guided instructional practice which offers a great introduction to Yoga for new Yogis and an opportunity for practicing Yogis to refine their practice.

    9.15am
    We take a break, light refreshments provided. You may take some quiet time to journal, or take a walk to the main beach.

    Wellbeing segment.

    10.15am
    Yin Yoga with Crystal Sound Bowls.

    11.20am
    We close our retreat.

    11.30am
    Retreat concludes.

  • What do I wear?
    Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in.

    Do I need a yoga mat?
    Most Yogis like to use their own Yoga mat. If you don’t have one,, you can borrow one from the studio. Please contact the studio ahead of the retreat to reserve a mat.

    All other Yoga props that we will use at the retreat will be provided.

    Water bottle
    Please bring your own water bottle. The studio has filtered and mineralised water for you to refill your bottle.

    Light Refreshments
    Light refreshments are included in your package. This will include a nutritious smoothie and light refreshments mid morning.

    Journal
    We encourage you to bring a journal so you can note your s space will be offered for you to spend some quiet time for journalling.

    What happens if its raining?
    If the weather doesn’t suit for a sunrise practice, we will meet at the My Zen Yoga Studio at 6.30am and bring our practice indoors. We will contact participants ahead of time - please check your emails.

    I am visiting Bowen, is accommodation available?
    This retreat does not include accommodation. If you are a visitor to Bowen, there are lovely places to stay in Bowen and surrounds and we encourage you to book any accommodation yo may need early, to avoid disappoint and to make your retreat a memorable part from your visit to Bowen.

    Please note that all participants will need to make their own way to Rose Bay Beach for our sunrise practice and after the sunrise practice, make their own way to the studio.

  • As this is a Yoga and Wellbeing immersive retreat, our movement practices are aimed to suit all levels of experience.

    Please note that movement practices will involve coming to the ground and back to standing, balance, breathing with movement.

  • We understand that things change and you may no longer be able to attend this workshop after booking.

    Please contact enquiries@myzen-yoga.com.au if you cannot attend.

    If we can replace your spot in this workshop, we will offer a refund or a credit - less $10.00 administration recovery fee.

    We appreciate your understanding there is no refund or credit if you do not attend, or, if after you notify us, we are unable to fill your spot.

    Should a refund be offered, it may take up to 10 business days before being processed by the payment system.
